Nethili (fish) poriyal

Dried Anchovy(Nethili) fish poriyal


Ingredients:
onion-1(big)
Garlic-5
Tomato-1(medium size)
Dried Anchovies-300gms
Methi seeds-1 tsp
Red chilly-1
Mustard, jeera and curry leaves-for seasoning
Canola oil
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Chilly powder-1 tsp
pepper -1/2tsp
salt

Method:

1.Soak the anchovy fishes in hot water for 20 min and then wash the anchovies 3 times in hot water.
2.Now add a tsp of oil in a frying pan and then add mustard ,jeera methi seeds and the curry leaves and fry for a min.
3.Then add the onions and fry it until it turns golden brown ,then add the finely chopped tomatoes and let it become sausy.
4.Add the chilly powder ,coriander powder and stir it for a min.
5.Add the dried anchovies and close the pan with a lid.Stir it after every 2 min and let it cook for 15 min.
Note:Do not add salt because dried fish by itself might hv got salt ,so add salt only if needed.
6.Finally add pepper and keep for a min and its ready to serve hot with rice
