Pongal


Pongal:

Ingredients:

Mung dhal
Cooking rice(optional to use basmati rice)
Salt
Pepper balls-1tsp
Cashews-10
Ghee-4 tsp
Jeera-1 tsp
Mustard
Curry leaves

Method:
1.Cook 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of moong dhal,1 tsp salt in 7 cups of water .Mash the rice and dhal finely using spoon.
2.Heat ghee in a pan and fry the pepper,mustard,cashews,curry leaves,jerra
for a minute.
3.Then add the above to the mashed rice and dhal and mix it.

Pongal and sambar is a very good choice for breakfast and it tastes very nice when more ghee is added .
