Baji/Pakorra



Bajji:

Ingredients:
Banana(valaikai)/potato/onion/capsicum
Channa flour -1 cup
Rice flour-1 cup
Standard flour(maida)-1 tsp
Salt
Chilly powder-1/2 tsp
Red Colour powder (optional)
Hot oil- 1 tsp
Baking powder- 1 pinch
Asafoetida -1 pinch


Method:
1.Cut the vegetables in length wise
2.Mix the channa flour, rice flour, standard flour,salt,chilly powder, colour powder, baking powder and asafoetida in a pan , add water and make it into a thick batter (flowing consistency like idly batter).
3.Heat the oil in a pan and dip the slices of vegetable in the batter on both sides and fry it in oil for a min.
4.This hot bajjis can be served with groundnut chutney,tomato sauce etc.

Note:
*This bajji can also bbe made with egg,tomato,cucumber,potato,capsicum,onion,prawns,chicken,etc
*For egg ,potato and chicken ,add ginger garlic paste instead of asafoetida .
