Allu Gobi/Cauliflower Potato Curry


Allu Gobi/Cauliflower Potato Curry:


This allu gobi (allu-potato,gobi-cauliflower) is one of the famous dish in North India. This is preferred to eat with Rotis/Rice.This is a kind of dry side dish with all the spices absorbed to it.This dish is steamed and does not need much oil and a healthy side dish.


Ingredients:



Cauliflower -1

Potatoes -2

Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp

Chilli Powder -1tsp

Coriander powder-1tsp

Tomatoes-2

Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp

Mustard -1/2 tsp

Garam Masala-1/2 tsp

Ginger garlic paste-1/2 tsp

Coriander leaves

Lime juice (optional)

Salt and oil


Method:


1.Heat oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds and mustard and once the mustard starts spluttering add ginger garlic paste and fry it for a minute.


2.Then add the chopped tomatoes and fry it for a minute, then add the chilly powder , coriander powder,turmeric powder ,garam masala,salt and add the diced potatoes and allow it to cook for 5 min with a lid on the pan.


3.In the meantime ,cut the cauliflower into small florets and soak it in hot water for about 5 min.Once the potatoes are half cooked add these cauliflower florets in the pan and mix up so that the florets gets soaked up in the spices.


4.Cover the pan with a lid and allow it to cook for about 15 min in low flame. Squeeze lemon juice before serving(optional).Garnish it with coriander leaves.


5.Now hot allu gobi is ready to serve with rotis/steamed rice.
